We arrived in Venice and took a boat to the island we were staying on, Lido. It was absolutely quaint.
Meryl. This reminded me of a certain someone names Fabreezzio a few years back...I thought you might enjoy it.
Day 2: We went sightseeing to saint Marco's and visited the Basilica before heading to the Rialto Bridge.
The Ferrari store...I wish James could have seen this....
Gondoliers!
A wedding in every country...
MY NAME! Ah...the joys of having an Italian name and actually seeing stuff with my name on it....this has NEVER happened to me before!
Later in the day we went to the island of Murano. It's the glass blowing island of Venice and we saw where they make the glass. This fun old guy didn't speak a word of English but we had a blast just talking to him anyway....he was overjoyed to get his picture taken with the "lovely ladies" :)
Just on the canal on a boat
Day 3:
Today we were supposed to train to Slovenia but the only train didn't leave until 9 pm so we checked our bags at the train station and toured the city some more!
I met this puppy in line to check our bags...I fell in love and it took EXTREME will power not to steal it away from it's owners.
It was in this same line that we met Tony. Tony is a 60 something year old man who REALLY liked to talk to 20 something year old girls. Upon finding out we were from Utah he exclaimed, "Oh the stat-ion-ay of the Mor-mon-ays!" think of that in a really exaggerated Italian accent. We soon said goodbye and left. Only later did we run into Tony again. This time he put his arms around Mika and proceeded to kiss both her cheeks and go in for the lips before we pried his hands from her hips and pulled her away. Thankfully he didn't follow...Italians are so weird!
We didn't eat there but we stopped by...and then we found out that we were going to miss the Mika concert there in July....DANG IT!
This gondolier sang to us while the people in his boat looked slightly miserable in the rain

ALE. Remind me who Fabreezio was..... a fish? A couch cushion? An appliance? Dang it I forgot. But it sounds familiar.
