Yesterday we spent the day at Deloitte.
It's a US based consulting firm that is kind of a big deal.
Every year they host a full day community outreach program.
They pay their employees to come in, but instead of working- they do workshops for non-profit organizations.
They invite NGOS to come and learn how to write grant proposals, create websites, organize their finances, and work with the public relations side of their organizations.
CARPED- an organization we are partnering with was invited to go to Deloitte so they invited a few of us to come with them.
It was in a VERY upscale part of town called tech city.
The building is brand new and they took very good care of us the whole day.
Their work environment was out of this world
The people who helped us learn these skills were so happy to do it
It was amazing to see how willing they were to help people no matter how much or how little we knew.
What impressed me the most was their excitement for the work we were doing.
They could not stop thanking the NGOs for lifting India up to a better place
Our legit security badges and free gift for coming |
I just thought this was so funny...our free gift- a rolling multifunctional pen seat- NOT to be confused with a pen holder
The view of Hyderabad from the top floor of the building we worked in all day- pretty huh?
We really learned a lot at Deloitte yesterday and hopefully some of those skills will be put to good use with all the NGOs we are working with!
P.S. I may have won a little contest this week... I was pretty surprised and very honored :) you can check it out here.
