All things bright and beautiful

We woke up to the monkeys outside our window

Then we hopped on a bus to Kowdipally

We rode for two hours like this:
no air conditioning.

We arrived to find this:
My parents will be so happy...John Deer is everywhere

This is a view of the town...
We were told the the people in the middle of the street were communists doing a march and sit-in to change conditions in the town

As much as this does NOT fit with the theme of this post I felt it was necessary for you to see some of the conditions here...
I really don't need to comment more than that

Now on to things more lovely...

After arriving in Kowdipally we drove out to the rural villages.
We were there with one of our partner organizations, Carped.
They have a polt of land they want to develop into a place people can come and learn how to garden and build strong mud huts.
This guy was just chillin' in the middle of nowhere sleeping under a tree

This is Seth, one of our country directors

And this is an off-roading auto...pretty hardcore.

THIS is the plot of land.
We thought it would be a little more cleared than it is now...
I guess we have a lot of work to do

After going to the plot of land we went to visit a village
The people of the Ambardi tribe are probably some of the most amazing, and interesting people I'll ever meet

I swear we all look like giants next to the people here...they are so tiny!

Making Chapatti

This woman's wrinkles spoke of a long difficult life...I think she was the chieftess of the clan
and I could not get enough of her!

This man REALLY wanted a picture with his goat

This woman had quite the personality....smiling and talking to everyone in the tribe
She was beautiful

It was a beautiful day with beautiful people to learn about
